Fireworks and bunnies

Chinese New Year is upon us.

My kids slept in pretty late this morning… why you ask? Well, because the fireworks were blasting well past 1 am and then again at 5:30 am. The culture of exploding paper products is seriously beyond my comprehension, but honestly, we Americans have some pretty weird rituals too… we enjoy sitting on the back of trucks before football games and getting totally blitzed before kickoff…in a parking lot.

I digress.

The Chinese New Year is upon us and it’s officially the year of the rabbit. I have to say that I’m excited about this years animal. I mean, you can’t have a bad year when the mascot is a bunny. Right? And this year really is off to a great start. My hands may still be numb but my channel is growing, my kids are happy, my husband has a great job and we have enough free time to enjoy the area and sight see.

One thing we will be doing this holiday (we are currently on the CNY two week holiday off of school) is staying at a local hotel and also seeing the lanterns at the famous Yu Gardens. Stay on the lookout for the video on that to be released next week.

This past week I received a new e-bike, and let me tell you how excited I am for this. After my accident in September I am ready to get back on the horse and have the freedom of two wheels. This bike is lighter and much more manageable for me and it is so fun to drive.

One thing I didn’t share in the video was in the last scene Brandon and I actually planned on going all the way to another coffee shop but he ran out of battery half way there and we had to turn around. (I feel like a new years Energizer bunny joke is in there somewhere but I just can’t find it.) I tend to edit those parts out and I hope you enjoy me sharing the behind the scenes here with you.
